Cubicorn Games

Wow... an update!

by Dustin on March 22nd, 2019

Hey friends! So it's been a minute since we've done one of these, so first and foremost, apologizes.

During this accidental lapse in communication, Dustin and I have kept on trucking doing what we can to further development of our two titles, Down the Drain and Super Cucumber, as well as dealing with all the curve balls life has been so gracious to throw our way.

If you listened to the latest mini podcast or caught the most recent stream, you're aware that we're making a few changes to the content we are putting out. Mainly shifting our focus over to showcasing our development process as well as our own products. This doesn't mean that we're going to abandon what we've been doing up until now, as I'm sure we'll talk about video games and stream random things from time to time, but we wanted to try out some different things.

We want to finish our games. Like, release them for real at last, and this is one more way we decided to share that process with you. We'll also try to be better about posting more updates here in the future as well.

Thanks for putting up with all of our nonsense, and we hope to continue to entertain and inform you!

We’ve Been Greenlit!

by Lorraine on August 9th, 2016

Before we address the aforementioned title of this post, we wanted to say thank you to everyone who stopped by our Maker Faire booth two weekends ago (better late than never right?), and a HUGE shout out to our “interns”, Aundria and Alexandra for helping us out again this year. By Sunday evening, we were both pretty burnt out, and it was really great to have a few extra hands over the three days, so again thank you!

Now for our special announcement! Super Cucumber has been officially Greenlit on Steam! More thank yous to everyone who supported it over its two years in the program, and I can only hope to see Down the Drain reach that status soon too!

We do have some post-Maker Faire bug fixes and tweaks to make, but we do plan on getting another build of both games out at some point in the near future, so keep an eye out for that! Stay tuned to any of our online outlets (Facebook, website, Twitter, blah blah you know the drill) for all your Cubicorn games news, and while this year has been a little light on regular podcasts, we have been streaming almost every week on our Twitch account, with the archives being posted to YouTube. So if you can’t get enough of us, come on by and hang out as we play video games!

We Escaped From New York

by Lorraine on May 4th, 2016

It’s amazing how fast IndieCade East came and went, and it even was later this year than last year! We both had a great time at the event itself and in New York City in general! I know updates have been a little sparse recently, but soon you all shall see the results of that radio silence, because we should have new builds up in the near-ish future, as well as some new trailers!

In other exciting news, we will be attending Maker Faire Detroit again this year! If you’re in the general Detroit area mark your calendars for July 30th and 31st!

That’s all for now, but we will have more info soon!

The Dust has Finally Cleared!

by Lorraine on January 15th, 2016

Happy January to all! The holiday season is now behind us, and we've finally got ourselves back up and running on all cylinders! It really has been quite the journey these past few months (wedding planning is no joke!), and I know I'm speaking for both of us when I say it feels really great to dive head first back into development!

Aside from just our games, we've got more plans for this year! As you may know, we have been recording a podcast for a little over a year and a half. Now, in addition to our regular podcast episodes, we are going to start doing some streaming as well! While I'm sure we will stream our own games at some point, our plan is to stream all kinds of other games too! Generally, it will probably just be Dustin and I, but we should have an assortment of guests, from our podcast regulars and beyond!

The first of these streams will be taking place later today (Jan. 15th), with a tentative plan to have streams at least once a week. Anyone who has followed the podcast should have a good idea what is going to be played first, and it will probably be quite the experience. We will always do our best to post reminders on Facebook and Twitter as to when we will be streaming, and you can also find us here on!

Games, Faires, and More!

by Lorraine on June 10th, 2015

Hello again everyone! Sorry we haven’t been updating here as much over the past few months, we have been putting more of our attention on our Kickstarter page and have been posting updates regularly there. On that note, there will be another Kickstarter update coming soon, so keep an eye out for that!

We have another announcement to make, this time regarding our next game demoing event! Just like last year, we are happy to say that we will be at Maker Faire Detroit at the Henry Ford Museum July 25th and 26th. With Down the Drain and Super Cucumber in tow, we can’t wait to show off all of the progress and changes we have made to both games since their last showings at our local events during the Kickstarter campaign. If you would like to know more about Maker Faire Detroit, check out their page for more information.

Like I mentioned above, we have another Kickstarter update in the works, and make sure to check there and our social media pages for all the Cubicorn Games information hot off the presses!

Also, for our podcast listeners new and old, don’t forget you can send your questions, comments, or discussion topics to!

Kickstarter Success, Streaming, and More!

by Lorraine on March 27th, 2015

It has truly been a busy start to the year for us here at Cubicorn Games, but it has been quite a ride! Just in case you missed it, we are coming off a successful Kickstarter campaign for our two games currently in development, Super Cucumber and Down the Drain. Preparing for and running that campaign took a lot out of Dustin and I, so we have currently spent the last week getting ourselves and our work space back together after our multiple trips across the country. Once again, we would like to thank everyone for their support of our campaign. We can’t say it enough, and everything you all did means so much to us.

In other news, you might have seen on social media/heard on our podcast that we have started to do a little streaming over the past two weeks. We want to get into more things video game related, so we will be streaming us, as well as most of podcasting crew, playing a variety of games now and then. Our channel name (for both YouTube and Twitch ) is the Power Mitten Collective. Right now, we don’t have much of a schedule in place for streaming, but we will do our best to get the word out on Twitter when streams are happening, as well as archiving our content for viewing at a later date.

Currently, we have some footage of Dustin and myself playing some Smash Brothers for Wii U, as well as our March Basketball x DBZ spectacular tournament, which really needs to be seen to be fully explained. If you enjoy our podcast, us actually playing and talking about video games might be of interest to you too!

Speaking of our podcast, we do have an address you can email us at with questions we will read and answer on our show. If you happen to have something ask us, send us an email at! One of these days, we will get an email!

That’s all I have for now, and again thank you all so much, and keep your eyes here and on social media for more news and updates from us!
